H.E. the Ambassador of Georgia, Shota Getsadze, held an introductory meeting with Dr. Zurab Guguchia, a Georgian scientist based in Switzerland

 

On December 19, 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein, H.E. Shota Getsadze, held an introductory meeting with Dr. Zurab Guguchia, Georgian scientist working in Switzerland in the field of quantum physics, Senior Scientist at the Paul Scherrer Institute, Head of the Scientific Group “Emergent Quantum Phenomena in Layered Materials”, and Visiting Lecturer at the University of Zurich.
 
The meeting focused on the activities of the Institute, new scientific discoveries, and future cooperation between Georgia and the Paul Scherrer Institute in the field of education and science.
 
The aforementioned institute is the largest scientific research institute in Switzerland, employing approximately 1’500 people. The research areas are: solid-state physics, materials science, elementary particle physics, life sciences, nuclear and non-nuclear energies, and ecology.
