Embassy of Georgia to the Swiss Confederation

On 7 February, another round of political consultations was held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation.

“Receiving the European Union membership candidate status has been a great and well-deserved victory for the country. The Government is ready and mobilised to make further progress towards the EU membership”,  Ilia Darchiashvili, the candidate for the position of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, said when speaking at the joint session of the Georgian Parliament's European Integration and Diaspora and Caucasus Affairs Committees, where he discussed in detail the EU integration, the success achieved on this path and the future plans.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia continues to work for the main priority of the country - strengthening the sovereignty of the country and restoring territorial integrity in a peaceful way" - Ilia Darchiashvili, the candidate for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, said at the joint session of the Foreign Relations, EU Integration, Diaspora and Caucasus Committees of the Parliament of Georgia.

Ilia Darchiashvili, the candidate for the post of Foreign Minister of Georgia, highlighted the Government’s commitment to mediate for peace in the South Caucasus region.

The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, held a meeting with the chairmen of the European integration committees of the parliaments of the Western Balkan countries and representatives from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, who are in Tbilisi within the framework of the first inter-parliamentary conference of Georgia and the Western Balkan countries on European integration issues.

A coordination meeting of consular officials of Georgia is being organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
