The event brought together representatives of Swiss federal institutions, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Swiss Confederation and representatives of the Georgian diaspora. The invited guests were addressed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, H.E. Shota Getsadze.

The conference addressed a range of timely and relevant issues, including the understanding of neutrality in today’s international environment, energy security, regional developments, and ongoing conflicts.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues related to cooperation between the two countries. Particular emphasis was placed on collaboration between the municipalities of Bern and Tbilisi across various sectors.
From 17 to 20 March 2026, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, George Zurabashvili, conducted an official visit to the Swiss Confederation. During the visit, the latest round of political consultations was held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation.
On 5 March 2026, the Ambassador of Georgia, H.E. Shota Getsadze met with Mr. Fabian Molina, Member of the Swiss Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), at the Federal Palace of the Swiss Confederation.
On the occasion of the Day of Soviet Occupation, the national flag was flown at half-mast on the premises of the Embassy of Georgia to the Swiss Confederation.
On 14 January 2026, on behalf of H.E. President Guy Parmelin, a Presentation of New Year's greetings for the diplomatic corps accredited to the Swiss Confederation was held at the Federal Palace in Bern.
In accordance with the Law of Georgia "On Tourism", starting from January 01, 2026 , all tourists entering Georgia are required to hold a valid health and accident insurance policy. Any tourist entering the territory of Georgia must present a valid health and accident insurance policy in either physical or electronic form and must be available in Georgian or English.
On December 19, 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein, H.E. Shota Getsadze, held an introductory meeting with Dr. Zurab Guguchia, Georgian scientist working in Switzerland in the field of quantum physics, Senior Scientist at the Paul Scherrer Institute, Head of the Scientific Group “Emergent Quantum Phenomena in Layered Materials”, and Visiting Lecturer at the University of Zurich.
On December 19, 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein, Mr. Shota Getsadze, held an introductory meeting with Mr. Thomas Zindel, Director of the organization “Global Leadership Geneva–Bern.”
On 26–27 November 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein, Mr. Shota Getsadze participated in the European Economic Forum held in Lucerne.
