On Monday, October 30, the 6th lecture of the Georgian studies semester "Georgia from the beginnings to the Middle Ages" will be held at the University of Bern, which will be dedicated to archeology and the human evolution. The topic of the lecture is "Dmanisi hominins: behavior, lifestyle and death", which will be held by Georgian archeologist, Senior Researcher of the Georgian National Museum, Dr. of the University of Zurich, Professor Ann Margvelashvili.

In her lecture, art historian Prof. Nino Tchogoshvili will be painting a vivid picture of living conditions in Pirosmani’s day and looking at how they may have influenced his works. Afterwards, art historian Irine Jorjadze will be talking with Daniel Baumann, guest curator of the exhibition, about the development and significance of Georgian modernism, the artist Niko Pirosmani and the reception of his works.
