ILIA DARCHIASHVILI HAS PARTICIPATED IN THE EVENT DEDICATED TO THE NATIONAL DAY OF THE REPUBLIC OF HUNGARY

On 23 October 2024, the Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, participated in an event dedicated to Hungary's National Day.

Ilia Darchiashvili addressed the invited guests and congratulated the Hungarian people on their national day. He highlighted the strong friendship between Georgia and Hungary, emphasizing the shared commitment to deepening their partnership. The Minister noted that recent years have been especially significant for high-level dialogue, culminating in the signing of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership in 2022, which further strengthened the relations between the two countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs underscored the importance of already signed memorandums between the two countries and mentioned that close cooperation continues to unlock the untapped potential of this partnership.
As Ilia Darchiashvili noted, Hungary has always positioned itself as a staunch supporter of Georgia's European integration, a commitment highly valued by the Georgian government.

"Allow me to commend Hungary's efforts to fulfill the important responsibilities of its EU Council Presidency, especially in these challenging times for Europe. We believe that Hungary’s Presidency will contribute to peace, security, and prosperity for a truly strong Europe. We also express our gratitude for your long-standing and steadfast support for Georgia’s European future and for your continued efforts on our path toward EU membership. I would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm that EU membership remains one of the main priorities of Georgia's foreign policy.
