TEIMURAZ JANJALIA HAS HELD MEETINGS WITH MEMBERS OF THE GERMAN BUNDESTAG
Within the framework of his working visit to Berlin, on 27 September 2023, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Teimuraz Janjalia, held meetings with the members of the German Bundestag: the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael Roth (Social Democratic Party) and the member of the European Union Affairs Committee, Christian Petris (Social Democratic Party).
The deputy minister provided the German MPs with comprehensive information about the process of implementing the European Commission’s 12 recommendations and focused on the progress Georgia has made on the way to integration with the European Union.
Teimuraz Janjalia emphasized the extremely great importance of granting the candidate status to Georgia in the current situation and emphasized the need for further support from Germany.
During the meeting, the sides noted with satisfaction the close and multidimensional cooperation between the two countries, including the high-level visits conducted over the recent period, both at the executive and legislative levels.
The main goal of the Deputy Minister's visit to Berlin is to present Georgia’s progress on the EU integration path and to strengthen Germany’s support.
