On Monday, 25th of September, the interdisciplinary lecture course "Georgia from the beginnings to the Middle Ages" will be inaugurated at the University of Bern.

 
Similar to the previous year, from September 25, 2023, the University of Bern will again host a semester of Georgian studies, this time under the name "Georgia from the beginnings to the Middle Ages".
 
The interdisciplinary course is a joint unique project of the Embassy of Georgia to the Swiss Confederation and the Humanities Faculties of the Universities of Bern and Fribourg, within the framework of which Georgian and foreign Professors and lecturers will give lectures on Georgian history, culture, archeology, art, Georgian language and writing, Georgian chants, folklore, and polyphony.
 
The lecture course is intended for students and scientists, as well as for listeners who are interested in Georgian studies. The course will be held every Monday from 25th of September to 11th of December 2023, during 14:15-15:45 hours.
 
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Swiss Confederation, H.E. Revaz Lominadze will open the lecture course. The topic of the first lecture will be the introduction and overview of the lecture course, which will be conducted by Prof. Dr. Manuela Studer-Karlen, Professor at the University of Bern.
