VLADIMER KONSTANTINIDI, PARTICIPATED IN THE FOUNDING CEREMONY OF THE DIASPORA MEDIA ASSOCIATION

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Vladimer Konstantinidi, participated in the founding ceremony of the Diaspora Media Association.

In his speech to the participants, the Deputy Minister discussed the significance of establishing the association.

As Vladimer Konstantinidi noted, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the founding of the Diaspora Media Association, which will bring together representatives of diaspora media operating in various countries around the world. He mentioned that the association would be an excellent opportunity to activate a continuous communication channel with the diaspora, provide them with proactive information, and respond to their needs. Its goal is to disseminate reliable and accurate information about the country, highlight fellow compatriots, and promote the state's effective diaspora policy. The unification of diaspora media through this association will allow the Ministry to develop cooperation with the association and its individual members, both through Georgian embassies in host countries and the Ministry's central apparatus.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that caring for fellow compatriots living abroad, fostering their development, and maintaining their connection with their homeland is a top priority for the Georgian government. The state's active diaspora policy and innovative projects aimed at strengthening the diaspora have elevated relations with the Georgian diaspora to a qualitatively new level.

He also highlighted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs implements various programs and projects aimed at supporting the establishment and development of Georgian diaspora hubs, ensuring the involvement of compatriots in the country's development, and encouraging diaspora initiatives. These initiatives, in turn, serve to better highlight the Georgian diaspora and their role. Over the past few years, several ideas aimed at intensifying diaspora connections and uniting compatriots living in different countries have been funded under the Ministry’s grant initiatives project.

Over the past three years, around ten diaspora media platforms have been funded through this grant project.
