The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia hosted a meeting with the Co-Chairs of the Geneva International Discussions
On 6 February 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia hosted a meeting between the Georgian delegation to the Geneva International Discussions (GID) and the Co-Chairs of the GID. The First Deputy Foreign Minister and the Head of the Georgian Delegation to the GID, Lasha Darsalia led the meeting from the Georgian side.
At the meeting the importance of unhindered and effective functioning of the GID was once again stressed, acknowledging that it is the only international format with the Russian Federation for the implementation of the EU-mediated 12 August 2008 Ceasefire Agreement, involving key international stakeholders.
In this context, the necessity of making the progress on core issues of the GID agenda – implementation of Russia’s international obligations under the Ceasefire Agreement and safe and dignified return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees to their homes, was particularly stressed.
