​Georgia elected to the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions

Georgia was elected as a new member of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions for the 2022-2023 period, at the eighth session of the Conference of Parties to the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions will meet online from 1 to 4 June 2021.
 
During this session, the Conference of Parties discussed the state of implementation of the Convention around the world and major issues that have been brought to the forefront by the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Georgia has been party to the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions since 2008. Two large-scale projects funded by the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (​IFCD) and EU are currently implemented in Georgia.
